aunt fanny’s baked squash

ingredients:
3 lbs yellow squash
½ cup white onion, chopped
½ cup cracker meal
2 eggs
1 stick butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
(salt and pepper may be increased to suit taste)

instructions:
Wash and cup squash. Boil until tender, drain thoroughly, then mash. Add all ingredients, except ½ of the butter to the squash. Melt remaining butter. Pour the mixture in baking dish, then spread melted butter over top and sprinkle with the cracker crumbs. Bake in 375 degree oven for approximately 1 hour or until brown on top.
